Armenia averts Azerbaijani border infiltration attempt
In an official statement released earlier today, the Ministry condemns the country's political-military leadership for repeated attempts to destabilize the situation after the end of the European Games in Baku.
“Azerbaijan’s political-military leadership has been continually destabilizing the situation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border and in the zone of responsibility of Nagorno-Karabakh’s Defense Army. The daily violations of ceasefire are committed from infantry weapons of different calibers, as well as 60-82mm mine-throwers. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia publishes the violation statistics almost every day.
“Past night alone, the Azerbaijani armed forces fired 109 mines from 82mm mine-throwers. In the same period, the Azerbaijani subversive groups made two unsuccessful attempts to infiltrate through the border zone.
“Armenia’s political-military leadership has repeatedly warned that the aspirations and statements to achieve a military solution to the conflict are a self-deception, with the subversive acts stemming from such a logic being fraught with unforeseeable consequences for Azerbaijan’s military," reads the statement.
