Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Friday attended the opening of the Lomonosov Moscow State University’s Yerevan branch.

He was accompanied by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergencies Armen Yeritsyan and other officials, reports the presidential press service.

The University’s faculty includes mainly high-class specialists from Moscow. For the current academic year, it has admitted 65 students, of whom 50 will study free of charge.

For now, the university offers educational programs in five specializations: applied mathematics and computing sciences, law studies, journalism, linguistics and international relations.
