Armenian border villages under fire: Fatalities reported (updated)

A 70-year-old woman identified as Paytsar Aghajanyan was fatally wounded and killed in an Azerbaijani armed attack targeting the border village Paravakar (Tavush region).


The report was confirmed to Tert.am by a spokesperson of the Armenian Police, Ashot Aharonyan.


Sources from the Defense Ministry’s press office have told our correspondent that several border communities of Tavush are now under fire, with the adversary releasing gunshots from weapons of different calibers. The situation is reported to be changeable as of now. The Ministry sources promise to issue further reports.


Tert.am earlier learned that a cross-border shooting against the community Berdavan had left an elderly man killed.

Speaking to Tert.am, the police spokesperson said that two more women have died and a man has been wounded in the village Berkavan.


The women, killed in a fresh raid provoked by the adversary, have been identified as Sona Revazyan, 41., and Shushan Asatryan, 94.
