Twitter to test out new timeline format
Twitter has announced that it will be testing out a new format where tweets are sorted by relevance instead of being displayed in reverse chronological order.
It has been hinting at a more -algorithmic-driven news feed for more than a year, Rivetnewsradio.com reports, citing The Wall Street Journal.
Critics feel a move like this contradicts the pureness of news that Twitter is supposed to represent. Twitter's been adding more of its own editorial flare recently especially with the feature \Moments,\ that gathers what Twitter considers the \best\ stories happening at the time. A company spokeswoman told the Journal that the relevance-driven timeline is an experiment to help surface the best content for users.
