James Warlick: Times has come for new Armenia-Azerbaijani talks

The US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group has shared his expectations of the upcoming Armenian-Azerbaijani talks over Nagorno-Karabakh.

In an interview with the Azerbaijani Trend News Agency, Ambassador James Warlick said he believes that time has now come for a new meeting between the two countries’ presidents.

“We believe that the time has come – after more than one year – for the presidents to meet face-to-face for a constructive discussion on the way forward,” the diplomat said.

He added that the Minsk Group also hopes to collaborate with Germany in 2016, as the country undertakes presidency of the organization.

“The Germans have committed themselves to supporting the co-chairs in our efforts to mediate a negotiated settlement to the conflict.”
