Armenia’s top secondary schools named

Armenia’s Ministry of Education and Science has published an index of the best secondary schools as part of a school evaluation and rating project launched in 2013.

The top three schools on the ranking include the basic school of the educational complex Mkhitar Heratsi, the Lord Byron School of Gyumri and the Misak Manouchian School of Yerevan.

“These results are important for the schools’ principals and pedagogues to enable them to understand the existing problems, as well as the advantages. It is also important for the Ministry in terms of encouraging the best. The rating helps identify and target the schools needing our help,” Minister Armen Ashotyan told reporters today, introducing the statistics.

The rating does not cover elementary and privately-owned schools which are very few in number in the Republic of Armenia.
