French ambassador calls attention to environmental problems in Armenia
France’s ambassador to Armenia on Tuesday called attention to the environmental problems in the country, calling attention especially to transport management, waste disposal and public confidence building.
Speaking to reporters in Yerevan, Jean-Francois Charpentier said the French Embassy is now implementing a project in collaboration with the Ministries of Urban Development, and Culture in an effort to find a solution to the problem.
“The project is part of the month of Francophonie which, as you are aware, is starting this week. It is being implemented in the frameworks of different projects, which was initiated by the Embassy of France, to respond to economic and international challenges. We previously implemented such a project to address the problems in mountain industries,” he said, adding that they highly prioritize the smart town concept as a pivotal trend to be considered for Armenia.
