New chair that lets workers recline for truly laid-back approach to office life
For workers who hate getting out of bed in the morning, there may be a solution - albeit a pricey one.
A new start-up company called Altwork has developed a new work chair that allows people to work on their computer while completely reclined, the Daily Mail reports.
The Altwork Station resembles a dentist's chair in the way it reclines to a horizontal position. The computer monitor tilts securely with the chair while the computer's keyboard and mouse are held at an angle using magnets.
There's even an attachment for a laptop that holds the machine securely in place when the user is working while laying down.
The chair also converts to a standing desk and a traditional sitting desk, for the restless worker.
The chair is a desk jockey's dream, but it's unlikely they will be a common feature in offices very soon.
The bare bones version of the Altwork Stations costs $5,900 - and that's not including delivery fees.
And for an extra $1,000 customers can customize the station with colored fabrics and real wood finishes.
That's not to mention accessories like a double monitor or laptop mount that customers can add on to the work station.
The chair was the brain child of company co-founder John Speicer who was injured in a car accident and found he could only work comfortably while reclining.
However, Specier and his co-founder Che Voigt believe that the chair is not just for the disabled - but every worker that mainly uses a computer to do their business.
