NASA experts capture terrifying 'Devils' found on Mars
In footage captured by NASA's Mars exploration vehicle – the rover Curiosity – the sandy Martian desert appears calm at first.
But suddenly something terrifying happens, the Daily Star reports.
A huge mound of sand rises from the ground and begins violently swirling before tearing through the dirt into the distance.
Other clips show even more violent whirlwinds – increasing in size and speed – as they rip through the landscape towards a mountainous horizon.
NASA have been monitoring wind cycles on the Red Planet to see how they are helping to form new mountains.
Curiosity landed on Mars on August 6, 2012 after a nine-month voyage and has been monitoring activity and searching for life.
