Apple to facilitate fixing of cracked iPhones
By the end of 2017, Apple will put its proprietary machines for fixing cracked iPhones in about 400 authorized third-party repair centers, including Best Buy, Business Insider reports.
The company had previously restricted use of its so-called Horizon Machine to its nearly 500 retail stores and mail-in repair centers, and it has guarded the machine's design closely.
The move is significant for the multi-billion-dollar screen repair industry. It should also speed up wait times for iPhone repairs in countries around the world.
