Armenian parliament speaker condemns deadly Azerbaijani truce breaches
The speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly has condemned the recent deadly Azerbaijani ceasefire violations along the borders of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh).
Ara Babloyan, who is in the second Armenian republic to take part Armenian political parties’ forum, shared his comments on the tragic incident on Facebook.
“I am in Artsakh. It was a deep regret for me to learn, just a few hours ago, that the obscene act of sabotage provoked by the Azerbaijani armed forces claimed the lives of three Armenian servicemen - Arayik, Vigen and Vardan. I characterize this act, committed by the Baku regime, as just a murder.
“I offer my condolences to the families and friends of the young men. This is a common grief … Those young men sacrificed their lives while defending their fatherland. Eternal glory to our fighting heroes ...” reads part of the statement posted on his personal profile.
Babloyan further affirms Armenian nation’s resoluteness on being unanimous.
“At our meetings in Artsakh, we have, time and again, talked about unanimity. No provocation can hold us back from our objectives. The Azerbaijani authorities’ position proves, yet another time, that we have a great deal of work to do, consistently combining our efforts.
“Knowing well in advance that its regular act of sabotage will not go unpunished, the Azerbaijani leadership considered the political whim of the moment superior to human lives,” he says. adding at the end that none of Armenia’s international partners has so far issued a response to condemn the aggression.
