Ford claims first 'pursuit rated' police pickup truck 

Ford is already the dominant player in providing police vehicles in the U.S. and their latest announcement is likely to boost the 60% market share they had in 2016. 

The latest addition to the brand’s police lineup is the F-150 Police Responder, which Ford claims is the first ever “pursuit rated” pickup truck. While this F-150 will likely be a very good option for a lot of law enforcement agencies that have to operate in tough conditions, any time an automaker makes a first ever claim, it’s probably worth a deeper look, Forbes.com reports..

Pursuit rated is an internal term developed by Ford to describe the police vehicles it sells that have been enhanced to support the tougher duty cycles of patrol vehicles such as stronger brakes and electrical systems that can support all of the lights, radios and computers these vehicles carry.
