Parliamentary coalition unanimously nominates Serzh Sargsyan for prime minister
The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and its coalition partner, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaksutyun (ARF-D), voted unanimously on Monday to nominate Serzh Sargsyan for the prime minister’s post.
Speaking to reporters after a brief joint session, RPA Press Secretary Eduard Sharmazanov said the documents would be officially submitted shortly after the voting.
“The RPA and ARF-D nominated [Serzh Sargsyan] in accordance with the established procedure. The [Republican] faction’s leader, Vahram Baghdasaryan, will announce the official nomination tomorrow to allow us to conduct the discussion and voting in a manner prescribed by the law,” he said.
