Broccoli coffee a day: Australian public health body offers new superfood powder for health-conscious to health-conscious consumers
A tasty morning coffee is a morning necessity for many.
And while most opt for a flat white or a cappuccino, others are branching out and trying something a little different: broccoli coffee.
With broccoli being packed full of antioxidants and not enough Australians consuming their leafy greens, experts believe that adding a specially formulated broccoli powder to coffee will help boost people's health.
The powder, which is made with broccoli that is too 'ugly' to sell, aims to minimise vegetable wastage, reports the Daily Mail.
Research conducted by CSIRO found that 51 per cent of Australians were not consuming the recommended amount of fruit and vegetables per day, and they hope the powder will make it easier for those who are on the go to get their nutrients.
