An update to security software Dashlane promises to alert users to the moment their information is shared on the dark web.

The latest iteration of the popular password manager monitors the murky depths of the internet for leaked personal details, including email addresses and passwords, the Daily Mail reports.

The dark web is a hidden corner of the internet not catalogued by search engines or accessible using traditional web browsers, which is home to a number of nefarious websites that trade in drugs, stolen login and banking details, arms, and prostitutes.

Dashlane is now able to flag-up when users' data is shared online, and pinpoint which online accounts are now at risk from hackers.

People who use the same combination of email address and password are at risk of hackers breaking into their account after their login details on the internet.
