Armenian engineering city project discussed with Tajikistan's ambassador

The ambitious government plan to build an engineering city was discussed with Tajikistan's ambassador to Armenia, who met with the minister of High-Tech industries to discuss bilateral cooperation projects.

Greeting Ambassador Imomuddin Mirzoevich Sattorov in his office, Hakob Arshakyan briefed him on his agency's priorities and tasks, highlighting the key focus on technological development as a dominating trend in the country's economic development potential.

He also elaborated on the frameworks of their activities and trends.

Praising the existing potential of partnership, the ambassador, for his part, expressed his country’s interest in the development of technologies in Armenia and desire to get familiarized with the Armenian specialists' experience.

According to a press release by the Ministry of High-Tech Industries, Arshakyan also introduced Armenia's best practice and state policies aiming at future expansion.

He dwelled particularly on the activities and projects of Tumo Center of Creative Tech Industries and Armath Engineering Labs, as well as the national laboratories' role for students of technical universities.

Discussions unfolded also over steps to use technological inventions in military industries and the digitalization of the economy.

An agreement was reached to arrange a bilateral forum to enable specialists from both countries to get more thoroughly familiarized with the Armenian experience and study partnership trends and opportunities on the ground.
