Nikol Pashinyan: We urge for international action towards protecting Syrian civilians along Turkish border
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan opened Thursday’s cabinet meeting with strong criticism and concerns over the offensives in north-eastern Syria, calling for an international action to protect the civilans along the country's border with Turkey.
″I would like to emphasize once again that the Republic of Armenia condemns the act of invasion. We are concerned over the situation, as we believe that the operation will increasingly deepen the humanitarian crisis in Syria. We call upon the international community to undertake active measures towards ending the unlawful operations and protecting the rights of the Syrian citizens, including the ethnic minorities,″ he said.
Pashinyan also reminded the cabinet of Armenia's ongoing successful humanitarian mission in Syria.
He said that he expects a closed-door session after the cabinet meeting to promote an exchange thoughts over possible developments and the future positions of Armenia.
