Pashinyan discusses cooperation projects with Milan mayor  

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is in Italy on an official visit, has met with the mayor of Milan at the Institute for International Political Studies.

Welcoming the Armenian leader, Giuseppe Sala praised his trip to the country as a good opportunity to discuss the bilateral cooperation agenda. Describing Milan as a dynamically developing multi-national city, he briefed the prime minister on development programs for making it a financial-economic and industrial center. He addressed, in particular, municipal development, innovation, transport infrastructure and tourism programs, elaborating on the reforms in the public transport sector.

Pashinyan, for his part, praised the opportunity of his visit to Milan as part of the official trip to Italy, highlighting the city’s status as a major financial, economic and cultural center on the country's level. Hailing the ongoing development programs, he expressed also the Armenian authorities' interest in joint initiatives proposing reforms in a range of areas.  

Pashinyan prioritized especially exchange of experience in, and joint discussions over, the transport sector reforms, stressing also the importance of Ryanair’s plans to launch flights from Yerevan to Milan and Rome. The premier agreed that the recently signed deal will boost the economic, business, cultural, tourism and human ties, fostering also the political dialogue.

According to an official press release summing up the meeting, the two officials also emphasized the Armenian community’s role in the strengthening of bilateral relations, exchanging thoughts over future prospects for developing the Armenian-Italian cultural ties.
