Adoption of the Armenian Genocide recognition bill by the US Senate is a major event of historical significance. It was a long-awaited and courageous choice of the side of historical evidence, facts, and truth by the American people and its elected political leadership. It was a brave demonstration of an enormous responsibility before the future.

Any contextual motivations that may be attributed to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the US Senate today are up-to-the-minute explanations, nothing more. No context or explanation can or will be able to cast a shadow onto the unequivocal historical significance of the Armenian Genocide recognition bill by the US Congress.

Senators Menendez and Cruz and all the congressmen who voted for the resolution, have engraved their names with golden letters in the history of the Armenian and American nations and in the global struggle against denialism․

I am confident their due recognition won’t be long overdue. We know very well that a great number of visionary people have invested unremitting efforts on the long road to make this cornerstone recognition happen. We know them one by one and we are going to express our gratitude one by one.

We also know all the names of our compatriots, who, despite their huge and decisive efforts, have never preferred to act on the stage. Very soon we will have a chance to meet them one by one to embrace them and convey our collective feelings and gratitude.
