Armenian rights activists announce joint campaign to protest constitutional reforms

Over a hundred of lawyers and human rights activists have announced a desire to join in a civic compaign to protest against the constitutional reforms.

In a joint statement published by Ruben Melikyan, the president of the Legal Path NGO, they cited the urgent need to defend the values of democracy and rule of law, inviting lawyers to professional debates to develop the ″NO campaign agenda″.

The declared objectives are to ensure voters' ″equal access″ to the justifying arguments behind the pros and cons and inspire both the citizens of Armenia and the international community with the necessary confidence that the referendum outcomes were "controllable and subject to appeal".
