Russian-Armenian physicist Mishik Kazaryan dies in Moscow after hospitalization with COVID-19 suspicions
A Russian-Armenian scholar and physicist, Mishik Kazaryan, has died in Moscow days after being hospitalized with suspicions of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease. He was 72.
The Armenian Embassy to Russia shared the sad news on Facebook earlier today, extending its condolences to the prominent scholar's family and loved ones.
A doctor in physical and mathematical sciences, Kazaryan was famed as the creator of the most vivid pulsed laser for the visible region of the spectrum. The invention brought him the USSR State Prize in 1980.
Khazaryan was the spouse of Professor Arpik Hasratyan, an epidemiologist and doctor in medical sciences who died in the same clinic last month shortly after hospitalization with symptoms of the pandemic.
