Armenia's digital agenda discussed with Dutch ambassador

Minister of High-Tech Industry Hakob Arshakyan on Wednesday received H.E.  Nico Schermers, the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, to discuss bilateral cooperation opportunities in areas of mutual interest.

Appreciating his current diplomatic mission in Armenia as a great honor for himself, Mr Schemers said he is aware of Armenia's technological achievements and personally interested in the high-tech sector. He expressed his willingness to offer his personal contribution to the expansion of technological cooperation, promising to invest his best possible efforts within his diplomatic authority.

Minister Arshakyan, for his part, briefed the ambassador on the past years' achievements and current programs (including Virtual Bridge, Engineering City and Cybersecurity Center of Excellence). He especially prioritized the professional re-trainings in the university-private sector format.

"Through different programs, we aim to establish ties between the regions and Yerevan, as well as to connect Armenia with global technological centers, facilitating cooperation with leading companies and possible investors," he said, highlighting Armenia's great potential of technological thought.

According to a press release by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, the sides also discusssed cybersecurity issues and artificial intelligence, Armenia's digital agenda and other current activities.

Ambassador Schermers expressed his willingness to work in the technological sector to contribute to the deepening of the Armenian-Dutch cooperation.
