China to transfer BeiDou tech to Iran
China and Iran have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, under which China will establish BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) ground stations in Iran, geospatialworld.net reports.
Iran Electronics Industries, which is the largest electronic conglomerate in the country, will do space data collection. Notably, the United States, as a country possessing the GPS technology, had prohibited Iran’s access to high-precision services. However, with China transferring Beidou BDS technology to Iran, the county can now enjoy such services and develop its navigation technology.
