Our domestically manufactured radio-electric combat (REC) devices played a strategically crucial role during the 44-day war against Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), the minister of high-tech industry said today, appreciating especially the successful defense of strategic objects.

“The local achievements and the problem-solving skills have to do mainly with capacity development and certain specification of opportunities. The adjustment issues referring, for instance, to radio-electric combat, are the next thing to mention. In the sphere of the manufacturing of combat devices, the problem deals largely with the system they are designed to fight. They are more progressive compared to the combat means or the combat systems per se, as they may prove useless at certain moments,” Hakob Arshakyan told a news conference.

Stressing the importance of other, more effective solutions, he also proposed considering the use of the artificial intelligence systems operating in the Armenian-made unmanned aerial vehicles (UVSs). The minister emphasized that the device allows identifying the objects "without any need for a further feedback".
