Armenia’s acting FM holds telephone conversation with CSTO Secretary-General

Acting Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian on Friday had a telephone conversation with Stanislav Zas, the Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), to discuss the situation along Armenia’s southeastern border. 

According to a press release by the Foreign Ministry, the sides considered the implementation of the steps towards resolving the tension.

Aivazian informed the CSTO top official of the letters, sent on behalf of the acting prime minister, to the president of Tajikistan (which currently chairs the Organization) and the Council members for enacting the procedures of the consultations envisaged under Article 2 of the Collective Security Treaty.

Also, opinions were exchanged on future planned processes.
