NASA warns of approaching Asteroid 'longer than a football pitch'

An asteroid designated the title 2015 KJ19 is due to come close to Earth.

The celestial body measures 118 metres in length, making it about the same size as a standard football pitch, Express reports, citing NASA.

According to analysis from the space agency, the asteroid will fly by our planet at 23 kilometres per second.
This translates to more than 82,000 kilometres per hour.

At that speed, the asteroid would be able to travel around Earth twice in an hour.
