Iravunq: Pashinyan’s pick for foreign minister ‘not from diplomatic corps’

With the National Assembly not being yet formed less than three days after the snap elections, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is said to be already amid preparations to name the new cabinet.

With the appointment of a new foreign minister dominating the agenda, he has reportedly made up his mind to name a person from his “close surroundings” rather than a career diplomat.

Ruben Rubinyan, the chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations in the previous parliament, is thought to be the most favorite, says the paper, adding that no candidates for the deputy ministers have been picked for now.
