Zhoghovurd: New chief of Investigative Committee to initiate major personnel reforms

Shortly after his appointment to office, the new chairman of the Investigative Committee is expected to embark on a major reshuffle within the agency.

Argishti Kyaramyan, who formerly served as the director of the National Security Service, was installed on Monday, replacing Hayk Grigoryan, the Committee’s former chief who was relieved of duties after almost two and a half years in office.

Citing its sources, the paper says claims discussions are now underway over promoting Grigoryan to a senior post at the Military Prosecutor’s Office. The paper notes that he had come to the Committee from the military, where he may now actually going back.

Meanwhile, Kyaramyan will revise the agency’s staff, replacing the personnel in most subdivisions, says the paper, adding that many most employees are now breathlessly “awaiting their fate”. The paper claims that Kyaramyan intends to initiate reforms also in the departments to appoint his “trusted ones” as deputy chiefs or assistants.

The paper also notes that this is Kyaramyan’s tenth appointment since 2018 given that he had earlier held different posts in the State Revenue Committee, State Oversight Service, NSS (in the status of a deputy director and later also - director), etc.
