The European Commission will analyze the issue of Armenia's accession to the EU and discuss it with Yerevan

The European Union will analyze the bill approved by the Armenian government on starting the membership process and will discuss the issue with the Armenian authorities.
In Brussels Anita Hipper, the chief spokeswoman for EU foreign relations and security affairs, said this in a conversation with "Armenpress" reporter.
"We are aware of the bill related to the European integration process of Armenia, we will analyze it and discuss it with the Armenian authorities. Until then, we are already doing a lot by implementing our existing Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, which provides extensive support and alignment with EU legislation.
We have increased our financial support to Armenia within the framework of the EU Stability and Growth Programme, providing 270 million euros for the period 2024-2027, aimed at strengthening the country's socio-economic stability, as well as promoting connectivity, trade and energy diversification. - said Anita Hipper, the chief spokesperson for EU foreign relations and security affairs.
He added that EU-Armenia relations have never been as close as now, stressing that this was confirmed last year by a number of decisions, in particular, the launch of the visa liberalization dialogue and the support of 10 million euros provided by the European Peace Fund.
Hyper also said that the discussions regarding EU membership in Armenia show the attractiveness of the European Union and its values.
On January 9, the Armenian government approved the project on starting the process of joining the European Union, which was presented by the "Eurovote" civil initiative. The project will be discussed in the Armenian parliament in the near future.
