A $100 Million Turnaround Plan for the Armenian Church: What’s Broken and How to Fix It
The Armenian Church in America is not dying-but it is in deep disrepair. Empty pews, no management excellence training, weak spiritual habits, and limited digital outreach have become the norm for many parishes. Recognizing that the crisis requires more than moral appeals, Khachkar Studios has launched a $100 million campaign to lead the Armenian Church through a full-scale turnaround.
Their plan is not built on wishful thinking. It is guided by a data-driven model known as the “U.S. Armenian Christian Ecosystem 12 Body Parts.” This framework evaluates twelve foundational aspects of parish life: philanthropic support, religious content across the spectrum of media, regular Sunday attendance, school students, bible studies, management, and leadership training.
Based on 69 years of archival and field data, the results were stark-11 out of the 12 Body Parts are underperforming, many ranking in the bottom decile compared to other Christian denominations in the country.

To fix this, Khachkar Studios is offering targeted, outcome-based grants to up to 37 pilot churches, each eligible to receive between $300,000 and $400,000. But this funding is not open-ended. Each church must design a transformation plan using options from an eight-activity Pilot Menu. These include building high value-add role model ministries, launching digital Bible campaigns, improving sermon quality, developing volunteer leaders, and investing in modern media tools.
Khachkar understands that money alone won’t solve deep-rooted issues. That’s why every pilot church will also receive ongoing strategic support from a professional management team contributing 5,000 hours of senior management world-class benchmarking and management excellence to help design metrics, build implementation plans, and troubleshoot in real time to keep momentum strong.

The initiative is not shy about its goals. The first is to double the number of “Faithful” churchgoers, increasing weekly participation from 12,894 to 27,847. The second is to expand daily Bible readership from 1,000 to 41,423, transforming scripture from a Sunday ritual into a daily practice for Armenian Christians across the country. Third, achieve a 6.1x SROI (Social Return On Investment).
Khachkar Studios is also planning an unprecedented content expansion through its “Good News” media arm, by producing seven “Good News” workstreams: 1. Short-clips, 2. Podcasts, 3. Analyses, 4. Written Content, 5. Events, 6. News, and 7. Music, at 25 times the current production levels of all Armenian Christian organizations in the U.S.
With accountability built into every phase, Khachkar’s plan offers something the Church has rarely had: a clear path forward. This is not just a donation—it is a call to restructure, revive, and lead the Church into a new era of growth.
