There is no Lake Sevan, there is Lake Goycha, President of Azerbaijan Ilyam Aliyev announced during the event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
"Scientists have already done a lot of work on this topic, but more is needed: research, exhibitions, publications, historical maps. At the beginning of the 20th century, old Russian imperial maps clearly show that almost all place names in the territory of today's Armenia are of Azerbaijani origin. there is no Sevan Lake, but there is Goycha Lake," Aliyev said.
