Armenia Wins First Medal in World Karate Championships: Suren Harutyunyan Takes Bronze

The Armenian national team won its first medal in the history of the World Karate Championships. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia announced.

At the 27th World Championships in Cairo, Egypt, 21-year-old Suren Harutyunyan, representing Armenia, won the bronze medal in the 75 kg weight class, defeating Scott Thomas of the United States 2-0.
