Ararat Mirzoyan and the EU Commissioner exchanged views on prospects for cooperation in the field of security and defense

On April 14, in Brussels, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, held a meeting with the EU Commissioner for Defence and Space, Andrius Kubilius.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the active dynamics of expanding Armenia–EU partnership.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Andrius Kubilius exchanged views on the recently developing prospects for cooperation in the field of security and defense. Both sides emphasized that the significant progress recorded by Armenia in implementing democratic reforms, as well as the adoption of the strategic agenda of Armenia–EU partnership, have formed a new vision and opportunities for cooperation.

Reference was made to high-level events to be held in Yerevan in May, including the agenda issues of the Armenia–EU summit.

The head of Armenia’s foreign policy department and the EU Commissioner also exchanged views on regional developments. Minister Mirzoyan presented the ongoing efforts aimed at further institutionalizing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
