Memorandum of understanding signed between Armenia’s Ministry of High-Tech Industry and India’s Ministry of Defence

On August 17, Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Davit Tadevosyan received a delegation headed by Indian Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, who arrived in Armenia on an official visit.

During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities to expand cooperation between Armenia and India in the fields of the defence industry and high technologies, with an emphasis on scientific research, development, and innovation. The importance of strengthening institutional ties and developing partnerships with Armenian companies was also highlighted.

As part of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of India “on cooperation in research, development, innovation, and joint production in the defence industry.”

Under the document, the sides outlined areas for deepening mutually beneficial cooperation in the defence industry, including the implementation of joint research, development, and innovation projects; the development of defence technology startups and incubators; as well as programs for exchanging expertise and enhancing the capabilities of industry professionals.

The memorandum was signed by Aram Jivanyan, Acting Chairman of the Military-Industrial Committee of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, and Indian Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.

The sides agreed on further steps aimed at ensuring the practical implementation of the agreements reached.
