Swimmer Hovhannes Gabrielyan crossed Lake Sevan in 36 hours

Swimmer Hovhannes Gabrielyan has crossed Lake Sevan lengthwise, swimming 74 kilometers. He announced the achievement on social media.

It should be noted that the “marathon” began on the evening of September 12 at 7:45 p.m. from the shore near the village of Tsovak.

After spending around 36 hours in the water, the swimmer reached Piruze Beach in Tsovagyugh at 6 a.m. today.

It should be added that Hovhannes has made several previous attempts to accomplish the feat—last year and earlier this year—but did not reach the finish point.

Other swimmers have also previously attempted to cross Lake Sevan lengthwise, but none had succeeded.
