Zhanna Andreasyan and Georgia’s Minister of culture discussed the development of cooperation in contemporary art and cinema and the implementation of joint programs

As part of her working visit to Georgia, Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan today met with Georgia’s Minister of Culture Maia Bitadze.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Alfred Kocharyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia Giorgi Sharvashidze.

Minister Zhanna Andreasyan expressed gratitude for the warm reception, as well as for Georgia’s support in organizing the Days of Armenian Culture in Georgia. The ministers emphasized the importance of further expanding cooperation between Armenia and Georgia in the field of culture, as well as preserving and promoting cultural heritage.

Zhanna Andreasyan also highlighted the opening, as part of the Days of Armenian Culture in Georgia, of the conceptual retrospective exhibition titled “Yervand Kochar: The Multidimensional Genius” (Tbilisi–Paris–Yerevan) at the Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery of the Georgian National Museum.

Referring to the expansion of cooperation in the museum sector, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports emphasized the importance of strengthening ties and promoting cooperation between the national museums of the two countries, proposing that joint exhibitions be organized.

The sides also highlighted the development of cooperation in contemporary art and cinema and the implementation of joint programs, and reaffirmed their readiness to continue close cooperation in the field of culture and carry out joint initiatives.

It should also be noted that Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan and Deputy Minister Alfred Kocharyan, accompanied by Armenia’s Ambassador to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan, visited the Khojivank Pantheon of Armenian Writers and Public Figures in Tbilisi. They paid tribute to the memory of the prominent Armenians buried there.
