The TRIPP project could be launched even before the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan is signed. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this in the National Assembly.

Narek Karapetyan, head of the “Strong Armenia” parliamentary faction, asked what incentive Baku would have to fulfill the commitments stipulated in the peace agreement regarding roads if it had already established a connection with Nakhichevan through the project.

“Your perspective is geographically incomplete. TRIPP will not operate in isolation. The guarantee of the project’s implementation is that it will be mutually beneficial for Armenia, Azerbaijan, and third countries. It is impossible for Azerbaijan to transport cargo to Nakhichevan while the same movement remains impossible for Armenia,” Mirzoyan replied.

Today, the parliament is discussing the ratification of the framework agreement on strategic cooperation concerning the TRIPP project. Two hours were allocated for the discussion. Although 27 members of parliament had registered to ask Mirzoyan questions, time constraints allowed only three of them to do so, with one representative from each parliamentary faction.
