Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hosted a delegation led by Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the Government building.

The Prime Minister welcomed Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal Al Saud’s visit to Armenia and emphasized the importance of holding this year’s award ceremony for the Prince Talal International Prize for Human Development in Armenia.

“This is very good and welcome news for us. We know that it is a highly prestigious award, and I will also attend the ceremony this evening, which is a great honor for me. As you know, COP17 is currently taking place in Armenia. Biodiversity and sustainability issues are becoming increasingly important for each and every one of us. I hope that, through international cooperation, we will be able to find a solution to this global problem. Welcome. I would like to hear your impressions and your assessment of the current situation,” Nikol Pashinyan said.

The Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia thanked his hosts for their warm hospitality and noted:

“This is my second visit to Armenia in the past two years. To be honest, every time I visit Armenia, I feel the desire to return again. I am trying to arrange for my wife and family to visit Armenia as well, not merely to discover the country, its wonderful culture, and its centuries-old history, but also to identify projects that we could implement jointly in Armenia. Of course, holding the award ceremony for the Prince Talal International Prize for Human Development in Armenia is very important to us. Over the past years, Armenia has gone through several stages of development, and today we are delighted to see how far it has come. Holding COP17 here is also very important.”

Abdulaziz bin Talal Al Saud subsequently spoke about the Prince Talal International Prize for Human Development and the objectives of the award ceremony.

The interlocutors discussed prospects for the further development of relations between Armenia and Saudi Arabia. Both sides emphasized the significance of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and expressed their conviction that this would provide new momentum for cooperation across various sectors and the expansion of bilateral ties. They also exchanged views on opportunities to implement investment projects in Armenia.

Nikol Pashinyan and Abdulaziz bin Talal Al Saud also addressed issues of regional importance. Both sides underscored the importance of establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and strengthening stability in the region.
