Our commitment is to make the signing of a peace agreement with Azerbaijan possible as soon as possible. Ararat Mirzoyan
“Our commitment is to make the signing of a peace agreement with Azerbaijan possible as soon as possible, and subsequently its ratification, with your assistance.” This was stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during a joint session of the National Assembly’s Standing Committees on Foreign Relations, Regional and Eurasian Integration, European Integration, and Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, held as part of the preliminary discussions on the 2027 state budget.
According to the Minister, just as in previous years, our region and immediate neighborhood will remain a top priority in 2027.
“Overall, our primary objective will be to create an environment of peace and cooperation around Armenia, strengthen the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Armenia, and contribute to the continuity and resilience of our state,” Mirzoyan said, emphasizing that, in this context, the focus of our attention will be on our four immediate neighbors.
“I would not be making any groundbreaking revelation by saying that Armenia’s foreign policy in 2027 will be a logical continuation of the policy pursued in 2026, with certain emphases and adjustments primarily related to the Ministry’s name and, accordingly, its mandate and areas of focus.
I am confident that the same will gradually happen with TRIPP and other projects: Azerbaijani cargo will use Armenia’s territory for transit,” the Minister noted.
