TRIPP will connect Armenia's north with its south, while foreign trade will also be conducted through Azerbaijani territory. Mirzoyan
TRIPP will connect the northern part of Armenia with its southern part, while foreign trade will also be conducted through Azerbaijani territory. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan made this statement at the National Assembly.
“Regarding TRIPP, I would once again like to take this opportunity to thank the Parliament. A few days ago, the TRIPP Agreement was ratified. We will now finalize and sign the Shareholders' Agreement and the Charter of the TRIPP Development Company. Essentially, this will allow us to consider the documentary process related to TRIPP complete and move on to work on the ground.
He added that Armenia is interested in seeing construction work begin on the ground as soon as possible, followed by the earliest possible implementation and operation of all TRIPP projects.
By TRIPP projects, we mean various infrastructure facilities, primarily, of course, a railway, electricity transmission lines, and fiber-optic cables. In the future, there is also an intention to establish a gas pipeline, an oil pipeline, and other possible infrastructure links between the parties.
I believe it is worth emphasizing that these projects will provide Armenia with several opportunities. For example, through the railway, first, Armenia's northern and southern regions will be connected via the territory of Nakhichevan. Second, Armenia will be able to conduct railway trade with Azerbaijan. Third, Armenia will be able to purchase and sell goods with third countries.
Naturally, Azerbaijan will also have the opportunity to establish connections between mainland Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan, between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and between Azerbaijan and third countries,” he said.
