Film about Russian-Georgian war cost about $20 million

The film featuring the story of the 2008 Russian-Georgian war has cost a considerable sum of money, according to its chief producer.

The Georgian news website Gruzia Online quotes Koba Nakopia as telling the TV channel Imedi that the budget of Five Days in August made $20 million.

Nakopia, however, refrained from disclosing any details as to the amount of honararium paid to actor Andy Garcia who played the role of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.

The presentation  of the film  was held recently in Tbilisi.

Five Days in August is a drama set centered around the war between Russia and Georgia, and focused on an American journalist, his cameraman, and a Georgian native who become caught in the crossfire.
