French-Armenian actress Rosy Varte dies at 89

Renowned French-Armenian Rosie Vard has passed away at age 89.

The actress died on Saturday but her husband, Pierre Badel, confirmed the sad news recently.

Rosy Varte (real name: Navarte Manouelian) was born in Turkey in 1923. Her family moved to France when she was just a few weeks old.

Varte has played in many theatres in Paris. She has appeared in 95 film and television shows since 1949. She starred in the 1972 film The Bar at the Crossing, which was entered into the 22nd Berlin International Film Festival.
