New book on Armenian Genocide presented in Yerevan

A new book exploring the modern perceptions of the Armenian Genocide and its role in literature was presented in Yerevan on Tuesday.

The author of the book is Rubina Peroomian, a researcher at the University of California. Speaking at the ceremony, Parsumyan called for efforts to achieve the international recognition of the Genocide.

“Although much has been done for international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, much has yet to be done”, she said at the event.

“The 100^th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide is approaching, and it will fall into oblivion. I do not deny that we are taking steps, but we have not yet achieved many aims.”

Peroomian stressed the importance of an academic battle, noting that the book (which is her third work on the topic) could be part of such efforts.

The book published in the English language is intended for foreign readers.
“I have never confirmed that there has been a Genocide because fact needs no confirmation. The Genocide is in my book,” she added.
