Exhibition of Jorge Luis Borge’s photos to open in Armenia’s capital

At the invitation of the State Organizing Committee of Yerevan World Book Capital 2012, a collection of photos of Jorge Luis Borge, an Argentine short-story writer, essayist, poet and translator, is to be brought to Armenia on April 19.

The exhibition is to open on April 23 to last for a week.

The press service of Armenia’s Ministry of Culture, as well as Director of the Academia gallery Gor Vardanyan informed Tert.am that the collection comprises 120 photos from the writers’ personal files. María Kodama Schweitzer, the writers’ widow, who is President of the International Foundation Jorge Luis Borge (Fundacion Internacional Jorge Luis Borge) will bring the photos to Armenia.

Head of the Armenian Presidential Administration Vigen Sargsyan is Chairman of the State Organizing Committee of Yerevan World Book Capital 2012. Armenia’s Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan is among Committee members.
