‘Young archeologist’ school to operate at ‘Erebuni’ historic-cultural reserve-museum

‘Young archeologist’ school will start operating at ‘Erebuni’ historic-cultural reserve-museum to increase the level of public awareness of archeological values from the school-age, to help pupils understand the past and prevent the dangers threatening the historic heritage.

According to the press release of the museum, the school will give an opportunity to form the picture of the past, develop sense of responsibility over conservation of archeological monuments through experimental archeology.

The classes will be on elementary definitions of archeology, excavations, Urartu archeology, cuneiforms and methods of reading them. The practical classes will pass in the square built near the museum’s building. It is the duplicate of the Erebuni castle’s citadel’s part.

The first class is scheduled on May 16. Eighteen students from Yerevan schools and higher educational establishments applied for attending the class.
