Armenian teachers awarded

Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan participated on Monday in the awards ceremony of 230 teachers from Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh and Javakhk.

The ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia, with the sponsorship of the Tashir Fund, under a bilateral memorandum.

Each of the teachers received a money prize of AMD 200,000.

Minister Ashotyan pointed out the importance of such initiatives by charity funds. He stressed that teachers need to be respected by society as well.

“Educating citizens is imperative for us. We need to preserve our national identity and impart knowledge to young Armenians, the work done by teachers,” Ashotyan said.

Teachers from Yerevan and Armenia’s regions were awarded.

Armenia’s Ministry of Education and Science and the Tashir Fund signed a memorandum envisaging the sponsorship of a number of education programs.

Under the first program, over 200 students from Nagorno-Karabakh and Javakhk each received AMD 200,000 grants.
Artak Chagharyan of the Tashir Fund reported that the worth of the program is $150,000.
