Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema to have new specializations

Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema will have new specializations from the new academic year. Speaking to reporters today, rector of the Institute Armen Mazmanyan said the new professions are the demands of the market, which should not be ignored.

“We have a big number of students. The market does not want 30 actors a year, the time has changed,” the rector explained.

Among the new professions are 3D animation to be taught by film director Davit Sahakyan, pantomime to be taught by Yura Kostanyan and theatre and film director courses to be headed by director Vigen Chaldranyan.

Mazmanyan said a special studio for youngsters has been created where Narek Duryan will conduct classes.

The rector stressed that the university has cooperation agreements with 6 foreign institutes, including with the higher educational establishment of Batumi, Tbilisi, Kiev, St. Petersburg.
