International Arts Education Week to be held in Armenia

International Arts Education Week will for the first time be conducted in Armenia from May 21-27. Speaking to Tert.am, Gayane Durgaryan, from Culture Ministry’s press department, said the program of the event involves both the capital and the regions.

She said apart from it the ministry has presented an arts education package to the government entitled “2012-2015 State Program for Education of Children and Juveniles.”

May 21 is World Day for Cultural Diversity. May 21-27 is declared by UNESCO International Arts Education Week.

A number of cultural organizations, NGOs have got prepared for the cultural week in Armenia. The event will launch with the “Cultural Diversity Parade” from Yerevan Cascade complex at 4.15 pm today and end in Charles Aznavour square at 5 pm.

The participants of the parade will hand to the passers-by materials about cultural diversity as well as invitations for participation in an exhibition in Artists’ Union.

On the sidelines of the events discussions on “Women Refugees” and “Diversity and Dissent” will be held.
