Turkish ambassador visits Armenian church in Germany

Turkish Ambassador to Germany Hussein Avni Karsioglu has visited an Armenian church in the city of Cologne to meet with the Istanbul-Armenian community.

According to the Turkish news website Sondakika.com, the diplomat has talked to the community’s prelate, Garegin Bekchyan, and also tasted Armenia brandy with the local Armenians.
 

“It doesn’t’ matter to me what the community is; I am interested in Turkish citizens. We have to realize that the world has changed. There were sorrows in the past, but we all have things to say to one another, as well as look to the future,” he said.

The Armenian prelate conveyed to the diplomat his high satisfaction with the Turkish government’s legislation to return the Armenian churches. He also gave the ambassador a book about the Armenians in Turkey.
