Armenian cities and towns to host chalk-drawing contest on World Environment Day

On the occasion of the June 5 World Environment Day, the Armenian civil movement We Can is launching a chalk-drawing contest in different cities and towns across the country.

According to the organization’s activists, the event titled Armenia without Waste will run from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm local time, bringing together children from capital Yerevan and the regions.
 

It is planned to hold around 8,000 events in different cities and towns worldwide to celebrate the day. This year’s theme is Green Anniversary.


The participants will draw pictures of clean environment, featuring clean yards, parks, forests, towns and country.

The message of the day is to value and preserve the environment. The children will also hear a useful lecture on waste assortment and disposal.
